Trump’s Businesses Raked In $1.9 Billion Of Revenue During His First Three Years In Office

We all know Donald Trump is still making money from his business, but how much? The feature story this week—an adaptation from my upcoming book, White House Inc.: How Donald Trump Turned the Presidency into a Business—breaks down the numbers, offering an unprecedented look at the president’s finances, which he has worked so hard to shield from public scrutiny.

Mind On Their Money

Trump’s net worth has dropped $600 million to $2.5 billion since last September. That puts the billionaire-in-chief at No. 339 on The Forbes 400, down 64 spots from a year ago.

Amid reports that it’s pulling back spending, the
Trump campaign announced that it raised $210 million with the RNC in August, significantly trailing former Vice President Joe Biden’s record-breaking $364.5 million haul during the same period.

The Trump administration has
siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks.

Looking to seize on positive momentum created by the groundbreaking Israel-UAE deal and President Trump’s subsequent
Nobel Peace Prize nomination, the Trump campaign is sending out fundraising materials touting the nomination.

Trump’s $300 unemployment checks are running out and there’s no more funding in sight. FEMA is telling states the benefits will only last six weeks.

The U.S. Conference of Mayors on Monday sent an open letter to President Trump urging him to rescind a recent memo ordering the government to review how it can cut funding from “anarchist jurisdictions.”

A Biden victory and split Congress is
best for stocks, but here’s what would kill markets after election night.

Medicaid Chief Seema Verma spent nearly $3.5 million in federal funds to raise her political profile. A House report found Verma ‘sidelined’ her department’s communications staffers in favor of high-priced Republican consultants.

Global Economy

China’s exports surged 9.5% in August despite escalating tensions with the United States. The growth was due to strong demand for medical supplies and electronics.

A Saudi Arabian court on Monday convicted eight Saudi nationals for involvement in the 2018 killing of Jamal Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and outspoken critic of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman whose grisly death shocked and revulsed the world.

Maria Kolesnikova, a leader in the protests against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko who was abducted by masked men on Monday, has been detained, according to reports, which detail Belarus' latest attempt to silence and expel opposition

Canada—which announced efforts in July to crack down on Americans flouting pandemic travel restrictions—caught and fined an American family using the “Alaska loophole” to vacation in Vancouver.

The
Tokyo Summer Olympics will go forward despite the coronavirus, International Olympic Committee Vice President John Coates said Monday, as Olympics officials still scramble to figure out what the postponed summer games will look like amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
