In an interview with MSNBC today, Dr. Anthony Fauci confirmed that it will likely be “well into 2021” before the U.S. returns to our old normal. That’s because even if a Covid-19 vaccine is approved in the next few months, it will still take time to manufacture and distribute the vaccine (and to convince people to get it). Some institutions are taking Fauci at his word and preparing for the long haul. All of California’s state universities, the largest college system in the country, announced today that they will continue online courses through the Spring 2021 semester. It’s probably a smart move, considering that 19 of the 25 worst U.S. Covid-19 outbreaks are currently in college towns.
