AD PRO - The Showhouses Must Go On!

Dear AD PRO Community,

One of the perks of editing Architectural Digest is the many chances it gives me to see so much great design and architecture—often before anyone else gets a look. And, as you all know, some of the most creative work in our industry is done in support of the many showhouses that raise money for worthy causes in communities around the U.S. each year. So, earlier this week, I was thrilled to get a virtual preview tour of the inaugural Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse in Dallas, opening today and running through October 25, with all proceeds going to NYC’s Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club as well as two local organizations, Dwell with Dignity and the Crystal Charity Ball.

Top designers from Texas and the rest of the country participated in transforming some 26 rooms and spaces in the house from top to bottom, indoors and out. It was fun to catch up with old friends like Mark Sikes, Jan Showers, and Michelle Nussbaumer, and to meet several other designers for the first time. Even though it was only via my computer screen, it was a joy to see everyone’s glorious work and I especially loved Jan’s feminine study, painted in Benjamin Moore's Wythe Blue. I wish I could have been there in person to take it all in. You’ll want to be sure to read AD PRO’s coverage of the house here.
