The Best-Rated Desks on Amazon

Whether you need it for working from home, homework or just the work that comes with everyday life at home (paying bills, basically), a reliable desk is a must-have. That has never been more true than right now, when millions of professionals find themselves working remotely and millions of students are attending school online.

According to Long Island-based occupational therapist Elaine Krebs, when considering the best desk in terms of ergonomics, you need a desk height that allows for “correct posture with knees and hips at 90 degrees,” and with a “surface height that comes right at the middle of the elbow and shoulder.” A desk that’s too low or too high for its user will put undue stress on joints as the individual types, writes, drafts and so forth, so don’t think of desks as one-size-fits all, especially if you don’t have a
great office chair that allows for easy adjustments. (An adjustable desk can help where multiple users are involved, but often at the sacrifice of storage space and style.)

For occasional use, that old folding table you have in the garage or a hand-me-down desk might be fine. But if you’ll be using your desk for multiple hours a day, you need to make sure you get a piece of furniture that will be functional in terms of size, organization and comfort. Moreover, the best desk for your needs should also look good — and fit well — in its intended space. For help with that choice, here are some of the most highly-rated, best desks that thousands of Amazon customers were thrilled to have added to their homes.

Seville Classics AIRLIFT Pro Electric Adjustable Standing Desk

With well over 2,000 reviews at present, this adjustable standing desk has a shining 4.7-star rating. The large desktop provides plenty of space for you to spread out your work, while a slight concave cutaway section adds comfort whether you are standing or seated by making it easier to reach items on the desk and to rest your forearms at the proper angle while typing.

One five-star review of this heavily reviewed and well praised desk calls it the “perfect no-frills desk,” and that simple description gets it just right. The 48” by 24” desktop isn’t so large as to eat up too much space in the room but it’s big enough for a full-sized monitor or even two.
