I've received tons of feedback that readers want to see more micro-saas opportunities, so here we are! Today, I'll be talking about two bigger oportunities, but check out Opportunity 3 for a unique micro-SaaS that aimed towards developers.

Opportunity 1: Video Hosting Software

This week, we'll be looking at Wistia, a $36M ARR company that has done a great job bringing professional video hosting to businesses.

Businesses don't want to upload to YouTube. Forcing their viewers to deal with ads, leaving their website, and the chance for a recommended video to be a competitor means that it makes sense for businesses to look elsewhere.

If you've ever wondered why so many businesses use something other than YouTube on their website, this is why!

One interesting thing I found when researching Wistia was that tons of their customers are using their service to create customer support videos, and sending those to customers when they have troubleshooting issues. And yet, this use-case isn't even mentioned on their website!

In this opportunity, we'll talk about how a bootstrapper could make a product that's laser-focused on customer support, what the MVP would look like, and what the biggest risks of this opportunity are.

Opportunity 2: Content Curation Software

For many companies, content is the new direct sales.

For companies who have nailed content creation, they have a scalable channel that they can use to reach tens of thousands of new leads.

But reliably high-quality content is challenging.

In this opportunity, we'll take a look at Curata, a company doing $6.8 million dollars a year, and see what they've done to help companies curate content for high-quality content.

We'll also discuss a downmarket opportunity from Curata - we'll build a product that not only helps curate content, but also surfaces opportunities to share that article with new prospects, months or years after the article's been written!

Opportunity 3: Micro-SaaS that focuses developers on revenue optimization

This is the one that will drive the most interest of this issue, I have no doubt!

Developer tools, AKA software that enables developers to work faster or more efficiently, is a fierce but exciting market. With so many tools on the market, many of them free, it can be hard to find a profitable opportunity in this market.

But this week, we'll look at how we can split off from a product like FullStory, which helps analyze and identify UX issues, in order to create a small micro-SaaS that's perfect for small teams of 1-10 developers.

I'll also share an open-source library that will make the product even easier to make!
