KEY FACTS

Election officials and voting rights groups across the country have warned that last-minute voters could face hours-long lines due to coronavirus precautions.

Photos and videos shared to social media show long lines already forming at polling places in a number of states.

Pennsylvania’s Allegheny County, which houses Pittsburgh, is experiencing delays in opening polling sites in three election districts.

Franklin County, Ohio’s largest county, had to shift to paper pollbooks earlier today after the board of elections encountered problems uploading data overnight—a move that could slow the voting process.

Georgia’s Spalding County, south of Atlanta, is facing a system-wide technical issue and has sent paper ballots to voting locations.

In Harris County, Texas, the state’s most populous county which includes Houston, all but one of 10 drive-thru voting locations were shut by county clerk Chris Hollins, who didn’t want the votes, at the center of a so-far failed legal challenge, to be jeopardized.

BIG NUMBER

100 million. That’s the number of people that voted before Election Day.
