A Podcast
I’ve recommended this podcast before. It’s Brian Koppelman’s The Moment. The episode that I want you to hear is Mike Campbell from 10/27/20. If you are around my age or a little older, this one is magic. Mike was Tom Petty’s longtime creative partner. He wrote a lot of the music for Tom Petty’s more recognizable songs. The way that these songs came to be is so cool. Mike also wrote a few songs that he presented to Tom, Tom didn’t like them, so Mike would pass them on to Don Henley. A few of those became mega hits for The Eagles. Cool stuff and some really fun stories.

In a past life, I spent a lot of time training people for a living. Two of the people that I look to first for workout ideas are Tony Gentilcore and Dan John. Dan’s youtube page has tons of awesome Q&A. I think a lot of people are on their own to take care of their fitness these days with classes being unavailable due to covid and things like Peloton and Mirror blowing up. I prefer the fundamentals. Bodyweight work, kettlebells, and bands. These guys have lots of great ideas.
#6 of 37 Hard Earned Lessons
Here’s something that I was dead wrong about. Dogs. I grew up in a house without dogs and even my extended family was a bit anti-dog. The story that I told myself as I got older was that they were just a pain in the ass. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Are dogs a pain in the ass? Sometimes. You probably shouldn’t get a dog if you want to travel on short notice, but if you want a companion, a hiking buddy, or a couch buddy, dogs can add a richness to life. They become family. Dogs are pure love.
