UI Resouces and Dark Patterns in Product Design

Hello!

I hope my message finds you well during these turbulent times :)

I am sending you some UI resource highlights, I hope you’ll find them useful.

On a separate note, here’s an interesting resource about dark patterns in product design. I’ve stumbled across this relic again just recently. I think it’s a good reminder of how UX can get out of hand if we’re too focused on chasing numbers, and we put the needs of the product before the needs of the user. There are some pretty funny ones as well in there!

While these are helpful to think about, the hot metric to track (and abuse) in the past few years has been “user engagement” -  *DUN* *DUN* *DUUN*

Like buttons, autoplay, emails that tell you that you received a message from a friend, but don’t show the actual message (only a link that takes you back to the engagement farm); and the list goes on.

I’d really enjoy a collection of dark patterns of the modern era. If you know of any good resources please share them with me!

Alright, that’s my quick update - I wish you a great week and I hope you’ll find my resources useful!
