Moderna said it planned to request clearance for its coronavirus vaccine in the U.S. and Europe after a new analysis by the company showed the drug was highly effective in preventing Covid-19, with no serious safety problems. But across America, states are beginning to raise concerns about a shortage of supplies with which to roll out any vaccine as the nation grapples with daily coronavirus fatality rates that have exceeded 2,200.
