More Approvals For Pfizer, But Not U.S. Yet

The news was all about vaccines today, as Canada became the latest country to approve Pfizer and BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine. In the U.K., where members of the general public started getting vaccinated yesterday, regulators issued a warning that people with significant allergies should avoid the Pfizer vaccine after two healthcare workers who received the shot had a severe allergic reaction. In America, where the vaccine has yet to be approved, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar pushed back against news from earlier this week that the government decided not to buy additional doses of the Pfizer vaccine. He says that it was actually Pfizer and BioNTech that wouldn’t commit to additional doses of the vaccine, but that America will have no issues getting more vaccine doses if needed.
