Decided to change my website back to the original with a few modifications, but me being the dumbass that I am, I accidentally deleted my entire archive page...so the procrastination has been real, but I'll get to fixing that over the weekend.

In other news, I've always thought that Google Analytics has always been kinda overkill and overwhelming to somebody who has never used it, so I decided it was about time to give a massive middle finger to GA and I'll be moving over to Plausible Analytics, which is a more user friendly and a privacy orientated alternative. Which leads me to my next part...

A shift for privacy-first tools
Recently the world has kinda been going a little crazy lately because of user privacy and data being shared after the recent policy update with WhatsApp. If you think about it, changing platforms is a lot easier said than done and I, like most other people stick to such platforms for the sake of family and friends.

Its not easy to just stop using something that you're used to, but maybe using less of it is a good start. So this week I have list of alternative and privacy-orientated tools for you that you may or may not already use. I know some of these tools are already popular, but I think a small part of me is actually writing this weeks issue to my friends and family.

Now on to this week issue!

Telegram is a messaging app with a focus on speed and security, it’s super-fast, simple and free. I've been using it now for close to 2 years and its become my go-to messenger of choice for most of my professional work as well as my maker mind groups that I'm apart of.

1Password is an alternative password manger to Google Passwords that makes it easier to store and use strong passwords so you can log on to sites and fill forms securely with a single click.

If you are looking for a great alternative to Chrome, Safari is actually a really great option for you if you are already using the iOS or macOS. I made the change over to Safari about 3 months ago and I ask myself why I didn't do it sooner. Chrome was always quite slow and clunky for me so switching to Safari made more sense as I am a Mac user.

Firefox is also a really great privacy-friendly option and is probably superior to that of Safari and Chrome as it blocks cookies and other trackers by default, not to mention that its also a pretty light-weight tool in itself.

Plausible Analytics is a lightweight and open-source website analytics tool that is built for privacy-conscious site owners. No cookies and fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA and PECR and not to mention you get actionable stats to help you improve your efforts while your visitors keep having a nice and enjoyable experience.
