Switch Weekly - The State of Switch 2021 Survey Results
Data for days. Web version | Unsubscribe 👋 Hey, here's issue #224 of Switch Weekly, with your update on the week in Nintendo. The State of Switch survey results are out now, and you're the first to know about it. I've been working on this over the past few weeks, diving into all the data from over 11,500 responses, and seeing what folks now think about Nintendo's hybrid after four years on the market. You'll want to grab a drink and settle in for a long read — here's the link you need to read the results in full. If you've got any feedback, comments, or thoughts I would love to hear it — just hit reply to this email, I read every one. Oh, and any shares of the survey results are very much appreciated. 😊 (A quick little PSA: If you're new here and are getting this email just to get the survey results, you can unsubscribe here in one tap, however I'd love if you stuck around and gave my weekly newsletter a shot. If you're happy to give it a go, just tap here, and I'll check back in with you after a few issues to see if you still want to get it. If you're happy to give it a go without me checking in, you don't need to do anything — welcome to the club.) Anyway, survey aside, we've got a huge week coming up on the eShop as there are over 35 games hitting the store, including the likes of Monster Hunter: Rise, Overcooked All You Can Eat, a new entry in farming sim Story of Seasons, oh and Balan Wonderworld is turning up. The full list, along with my descriptions, is below as usual. Have a great week, and thank you for supporting the newsletter. 🎮 Currently Playing — F-Zero, Baba Is You The State of Switch 2021 Survey Results — My extensive write-up of the results from this year's State Of Switch survey. Chris Brandrick // Switch Weekly PODCAST ▶ The next Nintendo Switch — Following the report from Bloomberg that a Switch model with OLED is on the way, comes this great podcast discussion on what such a new model could be. Remaster // Relay FM REVIEW Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle For Neighborville — "..a well-made multiplayer title with a decent amount of charm. The only issue is that it doesn't have enough going for it to make it a must-have game let alone one that's worth playing on the Switch.". Jamie Latour // The Gamer REVIEW Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse— This port is "a product of its time. A simple third-person action game whose distinctions are chomping on victim’s throats and a riffing off a distinct style of a bygone era". Joel A. DeWitte // Nintendo World Report Stubbs the Zombie is an uncanny classic Christian Donlan // Eurogamer Here’s what Animal Crossing: New Horizons needs for a fun-filled 2nd year Rebecca Stone // Twinfinite REVIEW Gnosia — This sci-fi visual novel mixes in RPG elements, offering up a "unique take on social deduction gameplay". Jhonatan Carneiro // Switch Player REVIEW A-Train: All Aboard! Tourism — If you're into trains and management style sims, then this sounds like a solid option. Here's another review from Gregory Renner writing at Big Daddy Gaming. Roland Ingram // Nintendo Life REVIEW What Comes After — This short narrative based game explores what happens when we die. Janet notes it "contains small bursts of well-written stories but the act of playing through them is dull in comparison". Janet Garcia // Gaming For The Culture This accessibility app for Animal Crossing: New Horizons shows how companies must do better Kate Gray // Nintendo Life It’s time for Nintendo’s heroines to get the spotlight Chirag Pattni // Nintendo Enthusiast Why the Neo Geo Pocket Color is such a beloved handheld — Some of the best Neo Geo games are now available on the Nintendo Switch, so here's a look back at why gamers still love the Neo Geo Pocket Color.
