Alternative Assets - Last Month in Insider (March, 2021)
Welcome to Alternative Assets. By now you may have heard of Insider, our special paid newsletter where we perform deep buy-side & sell-side research on thirteen alternative asset classes. We'd love to have you as an Insider. Let us show you why it's so valuable. Here's what we published in March: NFT Digital CollectiblesAn exclusive tip about MooncatsWe have two new contributors: Kiefer Zang and Adam Katz. Although Adam's last name is Katz, it was Kiefer who sent this exclusive tip to our NFT Insiders about Mooncats. We shared the tip shortly after they hit the market, and were trading at 0.35 ETH (± $620). Within 24 hours, the price rocketed to 1 ETH (± $1,800). If you were an Insider and bought just a single Moon Cat, it would have provided enough profit in a day to cover your subscription for 2.5 years!
Sports MemorabiliaAndre The Giant's used jockstrap (Ugh, pass)Adam Katz explored this crazy IPO. Andre the Giant was one of the WWF's biggest stars, and his jockstrap IPO'd on Collectable. The price was too high for our liking, and we didn't see enough upside potential to score it highly. But we think it's pretty awesome that this was actually for sale.
Sports Trading CardsThis classic Mickey Mantle should buck the recent selloffWe dropped a whopping 12 issues of Sports Cards Insider last month. The most popular issue featured a pair of 1956 Mickey Mantle cards. There's been a bit of a sports cards selloff lately, but Mantle cards have held strong during the and have actually continued to appreciate. Wyatt had so much fun writing this one, that he decided to share the full paid version with everyone. The issue also did a deep-dive on a Willie Mays and a Messi. Read the special full issue.
Game Trading CardsPokémon Charizard in perfect conditionOnly 15% of the cards in this set were "Holos." Of those, the Charizard Holo card is far and away the most valuable. It's the holy grail of Pokemon TCG cards. This was its first appearance. And this one is in perfect condition.
Comic BooksThe very first issue of X-Men, in near-perfect conditionThis is the very first issue of the X-Men comic book series, and includes the first appearance of Cyclops, Magneto, and Professor X. A 9.4 grade is the highest to ever be sold (there are four 9.6 and two 9.8 copies out there, but they’ve never been available on the open market.)
Video GamesPokémon Yellow for Gameboy (1999)In 1999, Pokemon Yellow, which features Pikachu on the cover, was the third Pokemon game released on Game Boy after Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue. This particular copy is factory sealed and has been rated as a 9.6 A++ by WATA, the premier video game grading company.
EcommerceA rare ecommerce site with high organic trafficWe discovered a massively overlooked ecommerce store selling Josef Original Dolls. Never heard of Josef Original Dolls before? What a shocker! Well, we tell you what they are, and what makes this opportunity so great (Hint: it's all about customer loyalty and that sweet, free, organic traffic.)
WebsitesA daily deals aggregator w/ a big mailing listWe did a deep-dive on an a daily deals newsletter which has a massive email list. We are probably biased towards email newsletter-based businesses (for obvious reasons!) but we still thought this one was being overlooked.
Social Media AccountsAmericanartt on Insta: High engagement, well-pricedWe found this Instagram account for sale which re-shared art videos to an engaged audience of 18-24 females. It was so well-priced that it was actually purchased within 48 hours (by an Insider!)
