Louis Saha: On the power of the right partner

Football star Louis Saha has learnt a lot about partnerships on the pitch, working with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Tim Cahill, Barry Hayles and more.

He says that fitting together the strengths and weaknesses of both partners is key — something that leaders in companies should aim to do too.

But how does the ball game change in the business world?

Here’s what Saha thinks should be done off pitch.

The flying car rush: are investors set for disappointment?

The urban air mobility sector is flying high right now. Lilium recently announced its $3.3bn SPAC, Volocopter raised a $200m Series D last month and California-based Joby announced a $6.6bn SPAC deal.

Many of these companies are also starting serious negotiations to get certification from aviation regulators, while promising to start services by 2025 — and some even as early as 2023.

But can we really believe this timing? Can flying taxis get public acceptance? And are investors in for a bumpy ride?

European healthtech consolidates as HealthHero buys Qare

London-based-virtual healthcare provider HealthHero said it’s raising a “megaround” of financing. It’s also acquired French telemedicine provider Qare, which had raised €28m in funding and has a 200 person+ team.

Ranjan Singh, CEO of HealthHero wants the company to be the "undisputed champion of European telehealth.”

HealthHero already has a presence in the British, Irish and German markets and has been on a buying spree, snapping up Doctorlink, MyClinic and Fernarzt in recent years.

Maija Palmer reports.
