This Goth Engagement Ring Trend Is Everywhere Right Now & It's So Pretty

Last month one of my best friends from college unexpectedly popped up on my Facetime, announcing the happy news that she's engaged! While trying to show off a ring over a choppy, pixelated, cross-country video call isn't exactly the ideal, the hardware itself is kind of beside the point — having an occasion to celebrate again feels good. While stay at home orders didn't totally eradicate weddings (and perhaps even increased the number of baby announcements), it did change the ways in which people celebrate these momentous occasions. From investing in rings that are more unique to a couple's personalities, to elopements in meaningful locales, to more relaxed ensembles the day of. As we all ease back into life's big occasions, I'm hoping that some of the intimacy and quirkiness that's come with the changes will stick around for good.
