Shaan Puri - who raised a $3.5mil rolling fund on TWITTER none the less...and Nathan Lustig, partner at Magma partners who runs a $50mil fund in Lat Am. Two of my favorite snippets:

1 - Audience to Assets:

Shaan explained how he raised a rolling fund on Twitter. Zero roadshows and no pitch deck.

How?

He used his audience as leverage because he’s already garnered some trust from his podcast followers on Twitter.

Equation is: Content +Audience = Trust + Leverage.

Side note - this will max you out at 99 accredited investors per the SEC which is why he raised up to $3.5m yearly to invest; a(rolling fund gives you 1x/year to invest.

*Also* Their models for how to determine what you need to raise.

Fascinating.

2 - Create a Track Record w/ No Assets?

Nat Lustig’s hack? He subscribed to resources like Angel List syndicates as an investor.

You don’t need to invest but you can see all memos that are being written on deals. It’s a great way to learn for free.

Then, he wrote his own investment memos on deals he’d do and track even if you can’t get money. Then put them in DocuSign with a timestamp to show proof and use as validation, of what you would’ve done.

Easy way to show your “track record” as an investor.
