Product Habits - A few surprises and an offer

There were a few surprises in last week’s survey responses.

1. Personal accounts have been used for work by half of the people we surveyed.

55% of the people said that they had accidentally added their personal email accounts to company documents. About the same (53%) said they had created company documents on their personal accounts.

2. Access to company documents persisted after offboarding for a third of the people we surveyed.

35% of the people told us that they still had access to company documents after leaving their employer. Another 28% said they never checked.

We’re a little skeptical about what people are telling us. We actually think way more people have access to documents with their personal accounts. And we want to dig in.

We debated about how we could learn more and help companies at the same time. After a bunch of brainstorming and back and forth, we had an idea that feels like a win-win.
