What’s new in Google Play services

App set ID: to strengthen privacy and security, we’re introducing a new identifier for analytics and fraud prevention. This provides a unique identifier for all apps published under the same developer account on a device.

Block Store API: provide a more seamless experience for your users by skipping the sign-in screen when launching your app for the first time on a new device. Check out the video and developer guide.

Upcoming Google Play and Android deadlines

September 2021:

•

Apps must comply with the Store Listing & Promotion policy that prohibits spam text and graphics in app titles, icons, and developer names. Learn more.

October 2021:

•

Apps must comply with the User Data policy update related to persistent device identifiers.

November 2021:

•

Existing apps using Play Billing must use Billing Library version 3 or newer.

•

Existing apps must target at least Android 11 (API level 30) for new app updates.

April 2022:

•

All apps must comply with the User Data policy related to the new Data Safety section on Google Play
