Simon Bennett's perfect bootstrapped business

Hi Bootstrappers,

Today's episode of Bootstrapped starts the mini-season of interviews, while my co-host recovers from a cycling accident.

I chatted with Simon Bennett, who runs SnapShooter, a service that performs scheduled server backups.

Simon runs what I consider to be a perfect bootstrapper business: profitable, growing steadily, something that works at small scare, and it offers something valuable to businesses.

We discuss:

  • why backups is NOT a dull business
  • how the pandemic pushed him to make the jump to full-time
  • charging his first customer just $2/month – and quickly learning to charge much more
  • a “I did a rm -rf on the wrong server” story

Listen to this week's episode of Bootstrapped.fm.

Until next time,

Steve McLeod
