The best time to carve your pumpkin is within a few days of Halloween (or even the night before). This will ensure your jack o’ lantern looks fresh and crisp instead of moldy and saggy. 🎃

Happy Tuesday! In Friday’s newsletter, I mentioned my weekend project was to get all my outdoor patio plants into my house. Somehow I managed to get the dozens and dozens of them inside and now my house looks even more like a botanical garden than usual. Guess my weekend project for next weekend will be installing more plant hooks and building some shelves to hold all these plants.

The Great Plant Migration is just a sign that the chilly and cozy fall weather is upon us though, which means it’s time for cozy everything like indulging your candle habit, baking a perfect baked potato, and enjoying these creamy fall soups. We’re particularly fond of those soups recipes because they’re not just full of flavor, they’re full of really healthy ingredients which is exactly what we all need during cold and flu season.

And water cooler trivia? You know we have some. How about a Two-for-Tuesday double dose of 1980s trivia? On this day in 1982, John Delorean (of the Delorean car company that made the iconic car from the 1980s film Back to the Future) is arrested and charged in a conspiracy to receive and distribute 24 million dollars worth of cocaine. The only way it could be more 1980s than that is if Delorean was a stockbroker. Speaking of stocks, on this day in 1987, the Dow Jones had its largest single-day decline. You’d think that would have happened in the Great Depression, but it was on “Black Monday” a little over thirty years ago the Dow dropped 508 points in a single day.
