October 20, 2021

Well, Google finally did it. The company took the wraps off the Pixel 6, and boy howdy! That’s my comment, and I stand by it. You’d think that with a “simple phone announcement,” all we’d have to say is, “there are two phones, and they are pretty affordable.” But this is Pixel, and that was never going to be the case.

We have new custom chips, new superpowers, better cameras, an interesting-looking subscription plan, and more! But don’t worry, we have all the Pixel news covered; check the top story to see everything in one place. Or scroll on down to find all the details. And keep an eye out for our upcoming Pixel 6 reviews!

Other Highlights:

  • Eric took a look at the Whirlwind FX ATOM keyboard. It’s small! It’s mechanical! It’s … woof. You should read the review. If you’re the right person, maybe it’s for you.
  • This cool Raspberry Pi HAT can control LEGO robots!
  • Wyze has a new doorbell! It’s surprisingly affordable and wireless to boot.
  • …and more!

Google Shows Off Its Tensor Chip, the Powerhouse Behind Pixel 6

Do you ever feel like something’s holding you back? That’s why the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro run on Google’s first in-house processor, the Tensor chip. But why is Tensor so much better for Google? Read More »

For the Price, Google’s Pixel 6 Looks Like the Best Phone (Android or Otherwise)

In the world of smartphones, a $600 device isn’t all that expensive. It probably won’t offer flagship performance, its cameras may be a bit outdated, and it could lack a proper IPX water-resistance rating. But not the new Pixel 6. It costs just $600, and man, it offers everything you’d expect from a $1,000 handset. Read More »
