NEW MACBOOK + I MOVED my blog to CLOUDFLARE!

Hi Reader

This is Tuesday and as usual, here I am with the latest tutorials I wrote.

As the title said, yesterday was a busy day because I moved my blog to Cloudflare Pages!

I used Netlify for 3 years or so, and I've been very happy with them. I still have lots of sites on Netlify, I just moved the blog because it was consuming a lot of bandwidth and I kept going over their limits.

Cloudflare Pages, the new static site hosting from Cloudflare (available since April), offers free unlimited bandwidth, along with other perks like free analytics.

It's been a smooth move, I recorded this video "live" while moving the site, and I'm very excited about the switch especially because I think the site will be faster in many places that were far from the 6 Netlify CDN nodes, while Cloudflare has over 200. And I'll be using many other Cloudflare services in the future, in particular their domain registrar, but also Workers and R2. P.s. not sponsored.

Here is the "moving to Cloudflare" video!

Today was also another very exciting day for me because I received the new MacBook Pro 14" with the new M1 Max processor. I was lucky enough to find a shipping date on launch day, even though I was a little late to order it. It's amazing, and immediately made a little video to show it to you, and to compare it to my '2020 MacBook 16" and the '2019 MacBook Air I have. The form factor is great, portable but still 1" bigger than the 13" computers I used for the past decade.

I still wish the 16" had a longer life but it was not a good choice and in the video I discuss why.

Here's the new MacBook Pro video!

I plan to make another video showing more development-oriented stuff, comparing it to the other Mac I have. I think I found a good setup for videos and I'm enjoying creating them.

Now that editing will be much faster on the new Mac, expect more of them!

On the blog, this week I published those articles, all on the topic of blogging:
