Microsoft Will Break OneDrive for Millions of Windows Users Early Next Year

Slowly yet surely, all the major tech companies have sold us on cloud storage. Store your pictures on Google Photos or iCloud! Store your files on Google Drive or OneDrive! The cloud is “better” because it’s “endless,” and you can always fit more.

And the best part about most cloud services is how they automate syncing your content from your device to the cloud. No need to worry about remembering. Which is why it stings to hear that millions of Windows users will lose access to that syncing capability early next year. The files will still be on the cloud, but you won’t be able to access them directly in File Manager and new photos won’t upload. See the top story for details.

According to a blog post from the company, around 7 million customers were affected, and hackers managed to obtain the full names, ZIP codes, and birthdays of around 300 people.
