• The executive assistant of the CNMI governor was found to be in contempt by CNMI lawmakers, the Marianas Variety reported. It’s the latest in the investigation of the CNMI governor’s questioned expenditures.

• Sgt. Joe Haflei, a Pohnpeian serving in the U.S. military, died recently. It was reported in the latest edition of the Kaselehlie Press. Mr. Haflei passed away on Oct. 17, according to Stars and Stripes.

• Teachers in Palau are working on getting their bachelor's degrees from the University of Guam, learning remotely.
