The Wait Is Over—The It Bag Is Officially Back

I’ll never forget getting my hands on my first “It” bag — a Marc by Marc Jacobs bowling bag I saved up for in High School (and still own). When I first moved to New York I spent weeks calling boutiques trying to get my hands on Mansur Gavriel’s bucket bag (I still own this one too). There’s a certain sense of accomplishment that comes with securing that impossible-to-find fashion piece that goes beyond simply appreciating the design — the bag holds meaning even when I retire it from my regular roatation. Now, the nostalgia for the “It” bag is at an all time high thanks to a funny little thing called “newstalgia” so it may be time to dust off those former favorites once again.
