Get Chasing Hemingway for just $3/ month.

THIS NEWSLETTER LOOKS  DIFFERENT BECAUSE IT IS.

The TL;DR...

Chasing Hemingway is a paid newsletter that I run. It's about writing and life and how the two exist so poetically together. While it usually costs $10/ month, for the next 24-hours, you can become a subscriber for just $3/ month. That's less than a cup of coffee; a cup of coffee you can start enjoying, weekly, on the other side of the *red* button down below. Use discount code "moveablefeast" at checkout.

The Whole Story...

At the beginning of this year, I was taking a pause in Asheville, North Carolina for a week or so, celebrating my birthday, reflecting on the hysteria of 2020, seriously considering what I wanted in 2021 and desperately trying to recharge the batteries I had all but depleted.

Rest for a writer can't so easily be defined as "rest". It's more so a brief hiatus where the writer dials back his output by about 50% and increases his input by about 200%. I've found that productive rest for a writer, at least for this writer, is writing less and reading (and experiencing) more.

Strangely enough, it's during this dialing back that some of your most creative ideas will well-up inside of you and they'll leave you feeling so restless that it's impossible to sit idle with them for too long.

This, to me, is the definition of a good idea. It's how I recognize them when they arrived. It's how I don't make the mistake of shooing them away, like strangers in the night, when they seem daunting.

In this way, a good idea is an idea you can't sit still with; an idea you must act on.

During this two-week-long siesta of sorts, the idea of a paid newsletter called Chasing Hemingway came to me; a newsletter about writing and life and how the two exist so magically together.

I wrote it to be intentionally broad because I wanted ample room on the page to really play and flex my writing muscles.

Fifty issues later, I can confidently say that it has allowed me to do just this. One week I might write about my candid reflections on my own hair loss, while the next week I'll share how David Bowie's career taught me to defeat my competition by escaping my competition entirely.

It's a small, intimate newsletter that has sat right around the 100 subscriber mark since its creation. But, at 70% open rates, those who subscribe can't help but open it, again and again.

Anyway, I'm closing in on the one-year anniversary of Chasing Hemingway and now that I've had the chance to really stretch my legs, I'm ready to increase the subscriber count and write to more folks like you.

While the newsletter is normally $10/ month, for the next 24-hours, you can enjoy it for just $3/ month by using discount code "moveablefeast" on the other side of the *red* button down below.

But, I digress.
