GROWTH INSIGHTS | ALL THE GOALS

I was tempted to write an inspirational post about how you should do ALL THE GOALS in 2022.

But I'd feel like a bit of a hypocrite. I started 2021 not sure about what I wanted to achieve. Except this.

This right here—what you're reading. This was *it*: This newsletter.

I've set ALL THE GOALS in the past and ya know.... I'm so good at not hitting them.

So this past year, my goal was a simple intention: publish a weekly newsletter for a year straight. The goal wasn't to get 1000 subscribers or make $$ from it. Those kinds of goals are ultimately out of our control, aren't they?

Sure, you can aim for them, but no matter what you do—no matter what your inputs are—the outputs might not get you there.

Here's the kicker: I actually did it. I set an intention of publishing a newsletter every week. This week marks 50 straight weeks starting January 19th, 2021.

So maybe instead of massive goals for 2022, just focus on those things you can control.

You can show up.
You can put in the work.
You can create.
You can connect.
You can promote.

But you can't force people to subscribe. Nor can you force people to read your work, follow you on Twitter, listen to your podcast or watch your TikToks.

There's good news though! The more you do the things you do have control over, the more the other things will follow. With just a little intention, quantity will lead to quality.

Try it.

Lofty goals inspire big dreams. But simple intentions spur action.
