Issue 200 - Tesla HEPA Filter

Is the Plaid yoke not for you? Replace it with a circular steering wheel

If you are not a fan of the Yoke, this is your opportunity! Pimp My EV has launched a traditional, fully circular, steering wheel replacement for Tesla Model S and Model X Plaid owners. Check it out!

Prototypes

Tesla adds airbag horn to yoke steering wheel following owner complaints πŸ“·
A Reddit user did this prototype with airbag honk enabled. This change requires hardware changes, so it won't be available in the previous refreshed Model S and X.

Tesla Model Y made at Giga Texas spotted on public roads in Austin πŸ“·
First sight of a made in Texas Model Y on a public road, this is exciting!

Walkarounds of a refreshed Cybertruck πŸ“Ή
This alpha prototype doesn't include door handles, a swipe up on the b pillar to open the door, and it seems to have a similar IC like the S and X. What do people think so far?

Service & Insurance

Tesla is doing recall inspections while people supercharging πŸ“·
The Twitter user Dealer of Happiness ran into Tesla doing recall inspections at a Supercharger, the technician was able to take care of 3 Model 3s in 15 minutes. Great idea if you ask me!

Tesla Insurance launches in Arizona and Ohio
Great news for those of you in Arizona and Ohio, Tesla insurance is now in your state! This brings the total number of states where it is offered to five (California, Texas, Illinois, plus the new two).

Geeking out

Tesla HEPA filter | Keeping your cabin air clean πŸ“Ή
New video from Tesla about the HEPA filter. They put a Model Y in a controlled environment with a few red smoke grenades and the HEPA filter is able to avoid the red smoke in the car, pretty impressive!

Superchargers

Tesla Supercharger Update: V3 performance bump to 324kW
Seems like selected v3 Superchargers are being updated from 250Kw to 324Kw. At the same time, Tesla plans on expanding their non-Tesla Supercharger prior to more places.

How these Teslas made $45,000 in 2021 πŸ“Ή
The Kilowatts purchased these two Model 3s exactly a year ago, and they have rented them for $45k. Take a look at the video to know more about how the different trims and capabilities rent for on Turo.

Issue #200 πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Yes, we made it to our issue #200! I have to admit the last almost two years have been rough, we tried our best to keep delivering the best possible newsletter about Tesla to you, I hope we got somewhere close to our goal.

Since our first issue on March 29, 2018, we have been sending out this newsletter every week for almost four years and we have skipped only one week in all this time. We started it the week before our second kid was born, great timing πŸ˜…, and for our second issue we were really sleep-deprived and half of the links were broken. During this time, we have iterated in the format and found our voice but since the beginning, we stayed true to our guiding principles, including news that interest current Tesla owners and future owners, never more than 10 articles, and no stock talk. Our audience has grown to the point that we have over 8K folks opening the newsletter each week and drive around 3,500 clicks to the sources that we include.

We truly hope you enjoy this newsletter. This newsletter is free and by showing up and reading it every week you already bring us joy, but if you want to go the extra mile and support us, convince a couple of Tesla friends to subscribe, give us a shoutout on Twitter or Facebook, or join our group on patrons.

With love and electrons,
Ignacio & Vanessa
