Top 3: opinion on crypto from devs who work in crypto, how web browsers work and how to test distributed systems

1. Ask HN: Does Anyone else working in a crypto company feel this is all a scam?​

TL;DR: The eternal discussion [with lessons] about whether crypto is a scam or not.

Often such discussions are useless. Who cares about the opinion of the average Joe whose world is divided into bad and good?

But this one is a little different.

Here we can look at the situation from the inside. That's more valuable. Especially for those who want to join crypto projects as a developer.

From reading the comments I learned that almost everyone who works in crypto thinks their product is a scam and only works for money. Only a small percentage think that their product solves a real problem. Yep.

2. Web Browser Engineering​

TL;DR: A book that explains how web browsers work, with examples of creating one using Python.

It is unlikely that I'll have time to read it, but from a quick scan it seemed very clear, easy to read and with a minimum amount of fluff.

3. Testing Distributed Systems​

TL;DR: Curated list of resources on testing distributed systems.

🔥 Coolest Thing I Learned This Week

​Gut microbe linked to depression in large health study.

Along with this discovery, a couple of days ago popular biologist Dr. Rhonda Patrick told that 50% of the small molecules found in human blood originate or are metabolites produced by bacteria in the gut.

So everything we eat directly affects our condition. Both physical and emotional.
