BUY LIST UPDATE: One company reports earnings today on the BUY LIST. GEF was REMOVED for a small gain as a result of heavy Russian Exposure (Explained Below). Yesterday’s rally helped significantly but there’s plenty of value left on the BUY LIST! Still, I haven’t added a new play. I see the need to be exceptionally careful before establishing new positions in this market. I’m certain my subscribers understand this. I want to offer you a higher than normal chance of profit & I don’t gamble.

IMPORTANT NEWS TODAY: Retail Sales Numbers come out at 08:30 ET today (See Economic Calendar Above)! Analyst consensus is 2%. Forecast is 1.5%. Previous was -1.9%. These numbers will make or break the markets today!

SPECIAL NOTE ON POWW: I sold a bunch of $POWW 7.5 JULY Calls (Covered Calls) yesterday against my existing position. As a result I took the premium that was added to my buying power & bought another 500 shares (I LOVE FREE STOCK!), & then sold 5 more calls against those. The result was a lower cost basis & a larger position primed to benefit as Ammo Inc grows over time. This is how you flip a position that you’re down deep on if you are long term bullish!!! If you decide to do this remember that chasing a more juicy premium helps little. As the price goes up so too with the premium on the call, but your shares will also increase in value too! At the end of the day this strategy will only result in loosing your shares if the price hits $7.50. Of course, if this happens you will get $7.90 per share with the July premium considered. POSSIBLE RUSSIAN INVASION OF THE UKRAINE: Don’t rule it out just yet. NATO claims Russia is still adding troops & the recent cyber attacks imply some malfeasance (Note: Both Georgia & Crimea were initially hit with cyber attacks prior to Russian annexation). The Russian Duma is putting some serious pressure on Putin to recognize the two breakaway regions of the Ukraine. They’re using terms like “genocide” to describe the Ukraine’s fight against the Russian backed militia’s. Remember when Russia invaded Georgia they annexed the regions that held a majority Russian population. However the destruction was throughout Georgia. Today Russia spends quite a bit of effort attempting to affect the politics of Georgia. Same script with Crimea, but on a lesser scale as the annexation did not result in destroying additional areas of the Ukraine. I highly recommend you remain skeptical of what you hear in the news on either side & trade the markets accordingly. It’s still a good time to have a large cash position.

If Russia invades, it doesn’t really make sense to go into the greater Ukraine unless they aim at crippling the Ukrainian Militarily from launching a counterattack & changing the political structure. Of course if they take Kyiv Russia will no doubt use the whole of the Ukraine to get cessions from NATO/Europe/US prior to withdrawal. So in a sense, regardless if they invade or not, they have a massive amount of leverage over the EU. In short, they can demand a reduction in sanctions simply as a condition of leaving the Ukraine. Here’s a solid video on what to expect if Russia invades. I don’t agree with all of it, but its a solid video nonetheless.

REMOVED FROM THE BUY LIST: GEF Yeah is a small 3.46% return in 13 days, but Greif has some heavy exposure in Russia. GEF is therefore removed from the BUY LIST to mitigate risk. During such times of uncertainty it would be irresponsible to hold a stock that may dump on geopolitical uncertainty more so than the average market.

Headwinds Ahead: I have a responsibility to warn my subscribers that bullish companies are going to be increasingly hard to find in this environment. I therefore owe it to you to scrutinize my picks more than ever as a result of REAL headwinds. The quick turnarounds we were accustomed to in the past are simply not going to happen in this economy. A swing that may take a month or two last year may take a quarter or two this year. Therefore I think it prudent to buy in slow & only average down when it hurts. Most companies remain profitable, but an adjustment in long term valuations & expectations are necessary. I will trade accordingly.
