Buy List Update: Two Stocks were removed from the BUY LIST yesterday & announced over Twitter HERE & HERE. The Templates to WFG & DXC can be found below. WFG realized a solid gain in roughly 48 hours so why risk it prior to the non farm payrolls today & inflation posturing for next week? Sure it could keep going, but you can’t be too careful in this market. DXC released earnings & boosted up to 14% yesterday. I figured I would remove it while the buzz was strong. Once again you can’t be too careful in this market. DXC, regardless, is a solid long hold! WFG is sensitive to housing start data, although February is the best time of year for construction supply orders. But still I’m not going to squander a decent profit in this market.

The StockTips Record has been updated & I’ve added a comparison to SPY for context. The realized profit & loss comes in at 13.99% in an average of 39 days while SPY averaged 1.84% for every 39 days over the last 12 months. For additional context, if you are curious, that 13.99% becomes roughly 6% when we take into account the red on the buy list (A bargain I tell ya!). Nevertheless an average of 6% in 39.75 days still smashes SPY that sits at +-1.84% over roughly the same average time frame over the last 12 months (I didn’t calculate the days on the BUY LIST). In short, StockTips continues to beat SPY by multiples!

Yesterday: AMZN Earnings have got the markets in a buzz. Lets hope it sticks! SNAP too reported earnings and registered their first profitable quarter ever. It seems as though the shorts had piled on SNAP after the FB earnings and boy did it squeeze after hours (Over 50%). Hopefully this will be enough of a market distraction away from the Inflation Numbers to be reported next week (Feb 10th).

On the Economic Calendar: At 8:00 AM EST we have the January Unemployment Rate & Non Farm Payrolls. Average Hourly Earnings will also be reported. Analyst expect the unemployment rate to come in at 3.9% & YoY hourly earnings are expected to be up 5.1-5.2%. I could be wrong, but I’m worried about the Non Farm Payrolls. There is some evidence that things may be bad.

Headwinds Ahead: I have a responsibility to warn my subscribers that bullish companies are going to be increasingly hard to find in this environment. I therefore owe it to you to scrutinize my picks more than ever as a result of REAL headwinds. The quick turnarounds we were accustomed to in the past are simply not going to happen in this economy. A swing that may take a month or two last year may take a quarter or two this year. Therefore I think it prudent to buy in slow & only average down when it hurts. Most companies remain profitable, but an adjustment in long term valuations & expectations are necessary. I will trade accordingly.

Lots of Red Still on the BUY LIST: The BUY LIST has greatly recovered but still red in many areas. There’s some solid value there! Check my work, look over the financials.
