Issue 204 - Plaid logo is back!

FSD Beta

FSD Beta handles a very tight spot with a huge truck in the way πŸ“Ή
Short video from our friend John from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley. In this video, his Model X with FSD Beta handles a very tight spot with a huge truck in the way, it even folds the mirrors to be able to go through.

Plaid

Plaid logo back to be in Plaid cars πŸ“·
According to a source of our friends at Tesla Owners East Bay, Plaid will stop coming with the β€œPLAID” lettered badging and will have a similar to the first few delivered Plaid graphical logo, although slightly more flush & smooth.

Model 3 & Model Y

Tesla China now offers Model 3 power trunk retrofit
Tesla China started offering retrofits for the power trunk of the Model 3 for around $630. Not bad compared to the aftermarket kits out there and the cost of labor.

Model 3 and Y with acceleration boost to get Track Mode
We don't know when but that is what Elon responded on Twitter. Hopefully, they add Track Model to the Performance Y while in there πŸ™‚

Superchargers & Factories

Supercharger with futuristic diner / drive-in theater planned for Hollywood area
We had heard rumors about Tesla adding a 50s dinner to a Supercharger, it seems that the concept has evolved into a futuristic diner / drive-in theater and the location is in the Hollywood area. Or that is what Elon said on Twitter this week.

Giga(Texas)Fest is coming
It seems that the event will take place in Austin on April 7th. It is unclear how people will get an invite, but I hope local folks can attend as a way to promote more Tesla and hire people in the area.

Tesla App updates

Tesla app to 4.6.0 πŸ“·
From the release notes:
  • Charge Stats displays your vehicle energy-charged and estimated costs
  • Submit comprehensive claims for Tesla
  • Insurance policyholders
  • Support for actionable vehicle push notifications

Tesla to start offering cheaper 'Annual Subscriptions' on Premium Connectivity and more
Found in the code of the new Tesla App 4.6 mentioned right above. There is language there that seems to indicate that Tesla is going to introduce annual subscriptions, hopefully for both the premium connectivity and the FSD. I hope they release the premium connectivity one before my free year is over in a month.

Tesla's updated iPhone app finally supports actionable notifications πŸ“·
Also mentioned in the release notes for the Tesla App 4.6, here we can see it in action. Now, if you get a notification saying that your cabin is at the right temperature, you can turn off the climate right from there. I assume this will also work for things like trunk left open or climate running for a long time without you being in the car.

πŸ’‘ Tip of the week

Remotely check your cameras. You can have a live view of your Sentry cameras when Sentry is enabled by opening security > live view (under Sentry). If you haven't done it yet, first you will need to enable it in the car. In order to do so, in the car screen go to Controls > Safety and Security and enable 'View Live Camera via Mobile App'.

πŸ€“ What the acronym

As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
