Tip of the Day

If you’re washing smudges off your eyeglasses, skip the hand soap and use dish soap. The moisturizers in hand soap often leave a film but dish soap won’t.

Happy Thursday! It’s not quite spring yet but around here it’s starting to feel like it is. The irises and daffodils are pushing up through the soil before the snowdrops, but hey we’ll take what we can get!

Speaking of spring, now’s a great time to start considering time to start thinking about a summer of juicy tomato plants—and if you want maximum flavor you want heirloom seeds. Not much for gardening? You can still enjoy spring with the Worm Moon.

On the kitchen ‘n pantry front, here’s when you want to consider replacing your non-stick pans, and here’s a list of things you shouldn’t be decanting for pantry or fridge storage.

And water cooler trivia? You know we have some. On this day in 2005, the first solo non-stop circumnavigation of the globe wrapped up when Steve Fosset landed in Kanas after flying around the entire world to land where he had started. Fosset spent 67 hours in the very compact cockpit of his craft, the GlobalFlyer, an experience he was well-prepped for by his previous record—flying around the world in a hot air balloon.
