An armed Texas militia member accused of leading a “vigilante mob” to breach the U.S. Capitol became the first Jan. 6 rioter to get convicted by a jury on Tuesday. Forty-nine-year-old Guy Reffitt was found guilty of all five counts against him, including bringing a gun to the Capitol grounds, as part of a mob that stormed the [Capitol.]
    ...
The verdict, which a 12-person jury reached in about three hours, marks the first prosecutorial success in actually taking a riot case to trial. Throughout the siege, Reffitt was also texting his family group chat, providing a play-by-play of his movements and, prosecutors said, his intentions to cause harm.
    ...
Throughout the trial, prosecutors alleged that Reffitt drove from his home in Wylie, Texas, because he wanted to “overthrow Congress” and drag lawmakers out of the building. “I pretty much stood there in awe and disappointment,” Jackson Reffitt, the defendant’s 19-year-old son, [testified]. Reffitt is scheduled to be sentenced on June 8 and faces a maximum sentence of decades behind bars.

Context: Florida health department contradicts CDC guidance on covid vaccine for children

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

No - Children are the least likely age group to get a severe case of Covid, much less die from it. There are no long term studies done on the long term effects of the vaccine. Considering there are menstruation issues in females and cardiac issues in males who have taken the vaccine, it seems imprudent to give it to a child that possess almost no risk from dying from Covid a vaccine that may be more dangerous to their health.

Yes - It’s not just about the kids themselves these vaccines are protecting. This is a public health measure, not just a perso...
