How many ads do you see per day?

Digital marketers predict it’s somewhere between 4,000 and 10,000. 

You probably won’t notice or remember most of them, but the few that stand out might encourage you to buy. 

I always remember the Jack Daniel's whiskey ads on the London Underground (see below).

They look like old newspaper articles, with long copy, interesting headlines, and black and white photos.

The exact opposite of most ads on the London Underground. 

No glitz, clubs, or flashy bars – just anecdotes about Jack’s life and the local community where his whiskey is made.

The advertisers want you to feel part of that same community when you buy the drink. 

This is a classic example of emotional storytelling. 

I don’t know how well these ads performed, but they’re still going, so I assume well. 

People rarely buy with their minds so go for their hearts.

Once you understand why people buy, you’ll reach a much bigger audience.
