Flavio - 2 weeks till the bootcamp signups open!
Hi Reader
The 2022 Full-Stack Web Development Bootcamp will officially open signups in just 2 weeks, on March 29, and the Bootcamp will start the week after, April 4.
This will be a great event, we'll work together for 20 weeks on lots of different and interesting projects, from the beginning of April till late August.
Today I have another project preview from the Bootcamp, and it's the Digital Downloads Website we will work on week 13.
As for all the 15 Bootcamp projects, it's built using React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Prisma and PostgreSQL. A great and flexible stack I really love to use.
We'll build a place where people can sign up, create digital products, set a price, and put the item up for sale. And people can go to the website and pay to download those digital products.
Among other things we'll handle all the authentication part, adding and editing products, file uploading to S3, payment through Stripe, and the peculiarities of having a two-sided marketplace.
It's a great project to work on!
If you've ever bought a product from Gumroad or a digital product from Etsy, well.. we'll build something similar.
Of course, what we can do in a week will be the core functionality, and as with all the projects of the bootcamp you have a lot of room to expand with exercises and possible things you can add to the project.
If you'll be part of the Bootcamp and you have some time in the next few weeks while you're waiting for the bootcamp to start, I would you go through those books:
1. The HTML Handbook
2. The JavaScript Beginner's Handbook
3. The React Beginner's Handbook
You can find the links to those, and all my other ebooks, here.
They are not a mandatory read since the bootcamp starts from zero, assumes no prior knowledge and we introduce those concepts in the first weeks (see the full schedule) before jumping into projects, but it's always nice to be a little bit prepared beforehand.
And those books are perfect for that.
I can't wait to start the 2022 Bootcamp!
I have published a lot more details and all the information about pricing and all the discounts that apply to students, unemployed, seniors, citizens of developing countries, past members of the Bootcamp in 2021 and 2020, and the JavaScript Masterclass.
Find out all the info on https://bootcamp.dev
You can also read some of the testimonials from students that took the Bootcamp in the past.
That's it for today.
Have a great week!
Flavio
