Product Habits - Your replies

Last week, I asked if you had used a tool to check your online identity.

Based on your replies, I learned that a couple of tools will run a checkup on your online identity. A few people also mentioned the various password managers that provide warnings related to your passwords. But most people haven’t even ever heard of or used any of these tools.

In other words, none of us are doing much.

That really got me thinking about the security of personal online accounts.

During the process of building Nira, a tool designed for organizations to protect their company information, we learned quite a bit about the different habits that people have when it comes to sharing data and collaborating with others online.

Part of the problem that organizations face stems from personal accounts that end up with access to company information.

This all reminds me of the days before popup blockers and modern anti-virus software. It was a mess. You had to be quite savvy to avoid phishing attempts and other nefarious online intrusions. Nothing was proactively monitoring your Internet activity and helping protect you.

This is a topic I’m very interested in learning more about. If it piques your curiosity too, reply to this email and tell me more.

I’d love to hear from you!

Be safe,

Hiten
