New Old Age - Let go of old ideas
Our heads and hearts are full of ideas and beliefs. Some new, some not so new. Some so old we take them for granted. They’ve become our operating system. At one point those old ideas and beliefs helped us become who we are. But do they help us become who we want to be? Or are they now holding us back? Many are obviously problematic. Self-critical thoughts, obsessions or compulsions, defensiveness are challenging but relatively straightforward to deal with. Foundational beliefs are a little harder to shift. Especially those that have become part of our persona. We need to step out of ourselves. Step back from a situation and our automatic responses. Step away from our attachments. Imagine holding all that fear, resentment, grief, sadness, and regret like pebbles in our hands. Now throw them all away. Cast them free. Make space and time for new freedom, energy, peace, love and creativity. Make room for new ideas. Make room for a new life.
