The April edition of Not a Newsletter is here!
Welcome to the April edition of Not a Newsletter! If you’re a newsroom in Europe, scroll down — I’ve got a big announcement that might help you with your email strategy! Otherwise, here’s what’s inside Not a Newsletter this month: 📊 Suggestions on which types of data to measure with email. 📱 Stories about newsrooms using SMS in creative ways. 💌 Tons of links from the Creator space. ...and more! Dive in with the latest Not a Newsletter! –Dan Are you a European newsroom looking to improve your email strategy? Join me in Copenhagen this September!Three years ago, after I left The New Yorker, I started doing workshops for individual newsrooms. They were a lot of fun — a day or two of strategy, learning, and collaboration to get everyone on the team working together towards common goals. And I had this dream: One day, I’d be able to put together an email workshop like that — but instead of doing it for a single newsroom, we’d bring together leaders from several different publications to learn together. And then the pandemic happened, and the idea of a workshop like that got put on hold. But I’m thrilled to announce that I’m *finally* going to make this workshop idea a reality. And I’d love you to join me for the first one! In partnership with the team at Medietrends.dk, I'm proud to announce Newsletter Strategy 2.0, a three-day workshop for newsrooms who are ready to supercharge their newsletter growth. This isn’t for newsletter beginners — it’s for newsrooms that have launched newsletters and are seeing some success, but want to take a big next step in the year ahead. I’ll give you the resources to create better content, increase engagement with readers, and drive more revenue from newsletters. I’ll be sharing the tactics and lessons I work on with my Inbox Collective clients, and giving you the tools to build your best email strategy. Over the course of three days, you’ll work with me to:
