Battleground - Redistricting Recap: 🚨Gerry's Watch🚨
Battleground is a reader-supported publication. Consider supporting the newsletter through Buy Me A Coffee. Redistricting Recap: 🚨Gerry's Watch🚨Your rundown of states still facing gerrymandering challenges to their new congressional districts.
Many states have faced gerrymandering lawsuits during this redistricting cycle; 11 are still awaiting court decisions. Below you will find links to all of my previous posts related to these gerrymandering cases. I’ll continue following redistricting developments as they come in until all 50 states are covered. Next week will officially begin my coverage of the 2022 midterm elections since primaries begin in earnest in May. Alongside US House coverage, I’ll be widening my scope to include senate and gubernatorial elections as well. Make sure you have a full understanding of the 2022 battlegrounds by diving deep into my redistricting content before the primaries begin! Settled Gerrymandering Cases (for 2022 elections)*
*Several gerrymandering cases have received decisions that allow states to hold elections under their new districts while state/federal courts hear the case. This means that some states have temporary congressional district boundaries locked in for 2022 that could later be thrown out by courts. A gift for me is a gift for you!
