Where we stand today, we should have seen this day 3 years ago

Why didn’t we?

Because I held us back. No point in sugar-coating it.

I got comfortable.

I got too comfortable in an 8*8 room, with a leaky gas pipe, roach infestation, a carpet that was always wet, food that gave me diarrhea, and a toilet I shared with dozens of other people.

And I didn’t see the point in moving forward.

Rather, I didn’t want to move forward.

Let me explain -

Our mind prioritizes our survival over anything else

Whenever we’re met with resistance, it pushes us back. It provokes us to get comfortable.

It hits the panic button to hold us back and ride out the waves.

I got comfortable with the dump (no other way to describe it) I was living in.

Why? Because I was scared to move forward.

I was scared of failing.

Of screwing it all up.

Of making a fool out of myself.

Of never being good enough.

Of being a burden on my parents.

Of missing out.

I spent 3 years in Pakistan being too scared to take the steps I know I should have.

So when I say I know what it feels like to fear getting started, I know exactly what I’m talking about.

To those who can’t relate to this - Bravo! 👏👏👏

You’re much better off than I was when I started.

To everyone else, believe me when I say this:

The worst thing you can do to yourself right now is not moving forward.

And as we get comfortable, all our unresolved issues, our childhood trauma, our hatred, frustration, and anger are expelled onto those who matter the most.
