Sarah Firth

“The page is a space where I can sit and have compassion with my troubles.”

How do you handle the uncertainty and flux that come with being a creative? When award-winning cartoonist, artist, writer, and graphic recorder Sarah Firth was a child, her mother gave her a blank page and told her she could dance with the pen, in order to still her restless body.

In her CreativeMornings/Melbourne talk, Firth shares how writing and drawing are a way through the uncertainty of life. Her wry, witty illustrations, which include lists of sounds, reviews of bath salts, and a collection of all things bearded, become both a safe place of return and a fertile ground for creative emergence. Watch Sarah Firth’s transporting talk and get inspired to sort through your days on the page.
