Recruiting Brainfood for the week ahead - Issue #295

Thank you. It was my birthday last week and I wanted to start off today’s newsletter by thanking everybody for your incredibly kind messages and warm wishes on the day. Even for a skeptic like me, it was a real boost to feel your goodwill and it reminded me how impactful it can be to simply reach out and say that you care.
As we struggle toward our shared future, I can’t help but think of the role communities like ours might play in nudging our species toward better outcomes. We are just a bunch of recruiters and HR people at the end of the day, but we have nonetheless come together in community because we share a passion for the work and, perhaps, a belief that it is through connection and communication that complex human problems can best be solved.
I suspect we will need remember this as we navigate uncertain futures. Keep connecting, keep communicating, keep leading with goodwill, especially with, to and for those with perspectives different from our own. It is only through connection that we give ourselves the opportunity to see the humanity in the other and through that awareness, preserve the humanity in ourselves. I believe we will get there. I hope you do too.
