SEO Chatter - The SEO copycat strikes again
The other day I was scrolling though my Twitter feed and came across something absurd.
Someone was complaining about another website copying their content. But instead of just copying the words verbatim, the thief rewrote each sentence so it would pass a plagiarism checker. But it was basically the same article from top to bottom.
Then a helpful soul jumped into the conversation and explained what was likely going on:
The article was probably created by one of these new AI writing tools. He showed a screenshot of such tool and pointed out how it takes the top-ranking pages on Google, grabs their section headers and associated content, then rewrites it all with AI technology for you to copy and paste into your own blog post.
In just a few clicks, you can write a 2,000+ word article without knowing anything about the topic. And potentially outrank all of your competitors!
BAHAHAHA!
Sounds amazing doesn't it?
Well I hate it.
And want absolutely nothing to do with that low-class way of website building.
What bothers me the most about this massive rise in content copying AI tools is that it screws over the original publisher (i.e., you). Our unique ideas and content is being scraped, spun, and plastered on a gazillion other websites without any remorse by the offending website owner.
What’s worse is the huge wave of eXpERt SEO writers who are cashing in on this AI copying craze.
Case in point:
I used to use several content writing services to get some basic articles written for a few side website projects.
But not anymore.
Every single content writing service I trusted has become plagued with AI writers. No matter how much I paid for an article, it would come back as a duplicate of another website's post (slightly rewritten of course), contain factual errors, and grammar mistakes. And when I asked for a rewrite, the author would immediately drop the project and another writer would pick it up. And within 30 minutes, I'd have another 1,500-word post submitted for my approval with the same exact problems.
Pro Tip: A turnaround time that fast is a definite red flag. So be aware.
Anyways, you can understand why I loathe AI writing tools and want nothing to do them.
But enough of that rant Reader.
Let's move on to today's blog post topic.
If you want to learn how to write SEO friendly content like a real human being—and not a SERP-destroying AI robot—then today's post will give you a checklist to follow to help you rank your original content higher on Google so you can add more value to the Internet:
