I started Native Deodorant by actually buying deodorant sold on Etsy and then white-labeling it. 

I don’t talk about this story often, but I think it is a good example of how scrappy entrepreneurs can be, and so wanted to share it.

I love this story. First, because it’s honest. And there are too many fake-origin-stories in the startup world. 
Second, it’s smart. By using Etsy to launch Native, he was able to place a small order (100) and get it in 1 week - instead of a factory that would demand 10,000 unit minimums, and take 4-6 months
