• HOW SHOUD YOU TRADE TODAY?: Inflation numbers come out Wednesday next week. And these inflation numbers are much different than the ones we’ve experienced in the past. Consensus is 8.9%, but energy prices have been coming down slowly, & for reasons that may not altogether be on the up & up. Moreover inflation was fairly flat last year across the late Spring to early Fall months. So when gaging YoY inflation, it can be a tall order to estimate next weeks cut. On one hand inventories are full & retailers need to come down on prices to move product. Energy prices are coming down, & the consumer is spending less. On the other hand, the flat numbers last year could skew the numbers this year in favor of a higher read. Still, we also have the Core Inflation numbers, which are assed to come in at 6.1%, 0.2% higher than last month. Either way, the way the markets perform today & Monday, will be in expectation of the inflation read next Wednesday.

• UNEMPLOYMENT RATE & NON-FARM PAYROLLS TODAY: July unemployment is expected to come in at 3.6%, same as June. Non-Farm Payrolls are expected to come in at 250k, down from 372k in June (Which is what we want to see … a lower number). Both will be reported at 8:30am ET Friday.

WORLD MARKETS:

• Stock futures are flat with all eyes on the July jobs report

• European stocks retreat slightly; key U.S. jobs report ahead; WPP down 7%

• Taiwan stocks shake off China’s military drills to rise 2%; Asia shares trade higher
