Do you take the path of least resistance - or do you like forcing it?

How do you create? How do you run your business? Do you white-knuckle things? What's your relationship like with effort and hard work.

I'm not talking about hustle culture. I mean your relationship with work and how you think you'll get things.

Million Dollar Question: Am I lazy or do I need to give it a rest?

Honestly, my week's been a roller coaster between feeling it 1000% and not feeling it, at all. On or off, very binary. Often, everything at the same time.

It's hard to know which is which: am I being lazy or do I need to let it rest? Sometimes, it's a good idea to push yourself a little. Other times, it's best to back off and let things be for a day.

This week got me thinking about resistance. Why do resistance and investing time and energy into something make it seem like it is more worthy than what comes easy? I'm over this mental loop. I want things to be as fun and easy as possible.

Lessons from Burnout as a Founder

I've not talked about this on this newsletter or much of our content before: I burnt out twice as a founder, once in my early 20s and once in my early 30s. Twice, I tried to do things in a way that had me fit into a box others had drawn for me. And twice, I suffered the consequences when I tried to break through walls through sheer determination.

When I started over with this business and the other brand I run, I swore to myself that this time it was going to be different. It had to. And I knew how to do it. I had fallen flat on my face often enough that I knew what better looked like.

I Optimize my Business for Ease

Everything I do now in my business is optimized for ease for me. I automate as much as I can, I batch-create, I allow to follow inspiration when it strikes, and I have very little structure. My marketing is built around what lights me up and comes easy. Except for those days when I get into my own way.

If you're a virgo or a very structured person, I can see how a lot of this sounds like a nightmare. No structure! Go with the flow! Wait for inspiration! LOL.

For me, this is what I need to thrive as a human and entrepreneur. This is where I have least resistance and things are most fun for me. It's a 180 from how I worked before and it makes me a lot happier.

The Path of Least Resistance: What Nature Can Teach Us

I live in the alps and have nature all around me. When I look around, I see no river flowing upwards just to prove 'em.

I see no bird making their hunt for food hard. Quite the opposite. A crow dug into my porridge on the balcony a while ago, when I went inside and got distracted for a moment. Path of least resistance! Why scavenge for snacks, when food is ready to sink your bird feed into?
