💸 Could you make $6-10k a month from this wedding site?
Nano Thought Everyone has been freaking out about Google algorithm updates recently. I get it, it's scary. This is why as soon as you get a site to be big enough, you should be trying to get it less and less dependent on a single channel. Ive had many sites hurt by Google updates, but MANY do better because of them! When someone loses rankings, someone else gains rankings. It's really that simple. Try and make sure your sites are ranking for many keywords not just a few, and are getting traffic from many sources, not just Google. We want traffic from FB groups, forums, other sites, Bing, your email list, and social media profiles...IE find what channels work for your niche and site, and build. For many of you, that might even be paid traffic! Before you go freak out about upcoming updates, check out this thread my friend BowTiedWookie from twitter wrote below:
This Week’s Nano Flip Opportunity With some recent Google updates, Im being a little more careful about content sites that get all their traffic from Google. So instead of just finding any old flip opportunity. So let's take a second to look at a site that isn't just a content site, but has an opportunity to make money with a little work from a different angle. This is a 9 year old, online LGBT Wedding directory, monetized by ad space, and selling listings. Check the listing here This isn't the best site for passive income but if you are willing to put in the work of some cold outreach? It could be a total cash cow. AND NOT ALL GREAT ONLINE BUSINESSES ARE SITES THAT MAKE MONEY FROM AFFILIATE OFFERS AND DISPLAY ADS! Listings on Pridezillas.com are $200 per year for featured listings and $100 per year for basic listings. They also have monetized the blog and depending on the product each blog listing sells for $80-500 per blog post. You could buy this site, get Linkedin Sales Navigator, and find business that want to list on the site. Just by setting up a simple search for "wedding planners" or any other vendor like wedding photographers, DJ's, wedding venues, officiants, florists and more and then picking the job titles of "manager" or "owner". From there, set up a simple outreach plan. 50 DMs a day to these business owners and managers, and one would easily be able to sell $6k a month in directory listings and blog posts. Make nice little ad rate card that explains what the buyers get, and make your 10x easier. The current owner thinks you could get it up to $10k but let's be conservative. Not passive...but you could probably outsource for $2k a month and pocket the other $4k! This would make the site worth an easy $144,000 if we assume a 36x multiple on the monthly net revenue. You could honestly just build this business from scratch yourself Of course this is just one hypothetical scenario. Do your own due diligence! I just wanted to show you all a different business model! in this episode of Builders Build, we dive into how we could take a pet niche starter website and turn it into a publicly traded pet conglomerate and so much more:
