We’re popping into your inbox on this lovely Thursday with a very exciting announcement. Drum roll, please…The GIST is launching a college sports newsletter! 

Along with our regular 4x-weekly sports news newsletter and 3x-weekly women’s sports business newsletter, starting tomorrow we’re adding a 3x-weekly college sports newsletter thanks to launch support from our pals at Under Armour. Exciting, right?

❓The why

Before we dive into what’s to come, here’s why we decided to venture onto the campus quad. We started The GIST in 2019 to help level the playing field in sports, and hope to do the same for college sports.

• Less than 4% of sports coverage centers female athletes, and an even smaller slice of that pie showcases women’s collegiate sports. The same goes for journalists. Less than 14% of sports journalists are women or non-binary folks.

• Enter: The GIST college sports. In true GIST fashion, our 100% women-produced newsletter will be the centralized place to stay up-to-date on both men’s and women’s college sports news.

🎓💌 The newsletter

After you sign up, you’ll receive emails every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning with all of the college sports info you need to know. We’ll focus on major national stories and will also provide Power Five conference coverage that you can opt into.

🔮 The future

We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but the sky’s the limit for this new vertical. Tailgates, tourney brackets, TikToks — those are just a few ideas on the horizon, but we’d like to know what you want. Reply to this email and let us know.
