Google Actually Admits it's Okay to Build These Kinds of Links

SEO has been around for a long time (in internet years). One thing that I learned pretty early on is that Google does NOT want you manipulating search results by "building" external backlinks to your site.

In other words, Google wants you to get natural links (links that come essentially without your involvement) not links that you manually build.

However, there are certain types of links that Google actually encourages you to build that can help you rank better. What type of links are those?

Internal Links!

Google has very clearly stated in its official SEO guide that you should be building internal links. And using keyword descriptive anchor text is a good idea.

And what kind of results can you achieve with internal links?

Well, just yesterday Jared Bauman (host of the Niche Pursuits podcast) shared on Twitter some amazing results he had from building internal links.

In addition to the results above, Jared shared this:

"A reminder about the power of internal linking when combined with good content. Heck, even just average content + good internal linking can win, depending on your niche.

As of July:

- No link building

- No internal linking

- No optimization There wasn't even a home page

On July 19th, we added Link Whisper, an internal link plugin. We added 519 internal links to the 152 articles. Most articles received 2-3 internal links pointing to them.

All contextual links with relevant anchor text. Total time: 2 hrs, 56 mins

You can see the immediate effects.

2.5 months later:

➡️ Keywords up 4X

➡️ Traffic up 3.3X

Internal links are the only thing that has been done."

If you are looking to improve your internal linking process, you have less than 24 hours to get Link Whisper at the biggest discount I've offered all year.

How She Makes $10k a Month Selling Phone Accessories

Are you a mover and a shaker? (Someone who can get things done no matter what?)

Well if you've been a Niche Pursuits reader you'll notice that's a common characteristic of nearly all success stories.

No matter what your goals or skillsets are, the important thing is that you try your best and don't give up when times get hard.

And our guest interview today on Niche Pursuits is further proof of this.

Her name is Charmaine Chan and her eCommerce store selling B2C silicone phone accessories has grown into a healthy business.

This is interesting considering a niche like phone accessories is notoriously difficult.

There can be a race to the bottom as products like screen protectors and phone cases can lack value differentiation besides underselling competitors - and yet here we are!

And today Charmaine discusses:

  • How she got the idea to create IceSword
  • What she hoped to achieve and offer with her brand
  • How much money she's making per month
  • The ways in which she stands out from the competition
  • Her top marketing strategy
  • Charmaine's thoughts about SEO
  • How she views link building
  • Her email list
  • How she does keyword research and creates content
  • The resources that have inspired her
  • The tools she uses every day as an entrepreneur
  • Her biggest challenges to date
  • The accomplishment she's most proud of
  • Her greatest mistake
  • Her advice for other entrepreneurs

It's inspiring to see how she's grown her business and how her focus on great customer service and other important areas have helped her stand out.
